06/03: A new release! (v0.3.2)
After a couple of good bug reports some really annoying bugs were spotted and squashed. So this brings the version of mtt to 0.3.2. Go get your copy today!29/01: A quick bug fixing release
0.3.1 is out today. It has no new features but fixes some unwanted ones ;-) There was a nasty bug that was keeping files open all the time and resulted in tags not appearing after you have opened a number of files for editing. In case you bump into a similar or another critical bug please report it immediatedly.18/12: At last! A new release!
Version 0.3 is out! It's been a while since a new release, it's true, but I don't have that much free time to spare at this project because of my everyday job. There have been many bug fixes and some small features added. You can read the Changelog to get an idea of what has changed. Grab a copy of the tarball from here! If all goes well (no bug reports for a while) 0.4 will introduce many new exciting features in MTT. Have fun! :-)11/07: 0.2 ebuilds & rpm packages
Visit the Media Tag Tools project page at kde-apps.org for Gentoo ebuilds and SuSE rpms.08/07: 0.2 is out!
After about four months with no updates, a new release comes to break the silence. Many things have changed since version 0.1.1. Here comes 0.2!The way the tags are written has changed. Now all changes are kept in memory and are
written to the disk when you want them to be written. Every tag that has changed is colored red and remains that way until it is saved. In case your genre field has a strange number when loading some audio files for the first time, please save the tags and reload the files. That is a know bug of taglib that has been fixed in the svn version and it will be included in the next release of taglib. I want to thank the developers of taglib for their immediate response to my bug report and of course for creating taglib!
Also the configuration and installation of the program changed. Now when you run qmake, you will be asked where you want to install the program and it will also check for some programs/libs that are necessary. To install the program you just need to run as root ./install.
One last thing that you might notice is that there is a folder named translations. Yes! Now the program can talk to you in your language (provided that some kind soul provides a translation of the messages :-P).
If you find any bugs, or you have any suggestions, feel free to make a bug report on berlios or email me.
Have fun! :-)
10/03: Another bug bites the dust!
Version 0.1.1 of Media Tag Tools was released today. It's mostly a bugfix release with some GUI cleanup also done. Unnecessary widgets (i.e. those with functions not yet implemented :-P) are now not visible or have an appropriate tooltip. Please update your copies as this version adds a check when renaming files, in case a file already exists. We wouldn't want to lose any files by mistake, would we? ;-)09/03: No Comments...
Thanks to some really stupid people who like to abuse the comment system, it will be disabled for visitors. Only members will be able to write comments. Please use the link to your right to use the facilities of berlios in case you want to comment on something.19/02: No fear! 0.1 is here!
About 4 months after the initial beta release and quite some bug fixes, Media Tag Tools can now be considered stable enough for a release without the beta tag. Get it here!
The next release will feature immediate changes to the tags in memory and saving all changes when the Save tags button is pressed. Also I'm planning on adding Music Brainz support but that may have to wait for a while. Now it is a good time to hear from you people about feature requests and/or things that you do/don't like.
28/12: Back from the dead
After quite some time, I give you the third beta of mediatagtools. You can get it here. This release fixes a bug where you had to remove a tag first to make sure that the text fields of the tag would be correctly marked as having utf8 text. Also, as mp3 tagging seems to advance really well, I decided to fix the support for ogg and flac files too. Yes, mediatagtools did somewhat support ogg and flac files before but wouldn't handle those nicely and that's why in the previous betas you weren't able to select/edit such files. Now it works perfectly (at least so it seems :-P).
Feel free to test and report your findings!
30/10: Dead Betas Society
If you downloaded the previous beta version of Media Tag Tools, kill it! Try this new beta version instead. It contains some bug fixes that rendered the previous beta useless when you tried to use custom format strings. Now everything seems to go well and... here! I present this screenshot as proof (yes those files where tagged automatically, using a custom format string and the info on their filenames).I'd like you to test the program (especially people that use iso character sets) and inform me if there is some kind of bug that slipped in and/or any feature requests. Now go get some fun tagging your files!
